Join Domain Xenserver

Click the users tab.

Join domain xenserver. Enter active directory credentials with sufficient privileges to add servers to the domain you want to join. To join the xenserver or pool to a domain. This was something i always wished i could do with the free version of vmware but it was always a paid feature of the full esx suite.

Started the lsassd service service lsassd start 5. For more information about licensing see about xenserver licensing. If you have multiple users in your domain that will need connections to the xen console this is a good way to prevent them from sharing logins bumping each other off etc.

The issue was caused because the password for the user had expired in the local. Stopped the lsassd service 3. Disconnected the xenserver from the domain 2.

Deleted the likewise database. Service lsassd stop rm rf var lib likewise db 4. When you are prompted for credentials on the joining server enter your ad credentials for the domain to which the pool is joined.

In the resources pane select the pool or server for which you want to grant somebody permissions. In the new release of 5 6 and 5 6 fp1 you can use active directory for authentication and permission authorization. Xenserver must join domain in order to delegate permission.

Connected the server to the domain.
