Use yahoo to test domainkey if you have a yahoo account you can also send your email to your yahoo email address to test dkim signature.
Domain key signature. Domain keys was the first version. Dkim public key record published in dns is incorrect or is not published at all. Domainkeys informally dk is a deprecated e mail authentication system designed by yahoo to verify the domain name of an e mail sender and the message integrity.
Dkim is the updated version. Yahoo and cisco domainkeys identified mail. The signing domain or outbound domain is inserted as the value of the d field in the header.
The file name syntax must be domain name domainkey txt. The receiving mail server obtains the sender s public key from the dns system to validate the signature. Both use public private keys to digitally sign emails.
Dkim uses a private key to insert an encrypted signature into the message headers. In 2004 yahoo began to sign all outgoing mail with domainkeys headers. Dkim domain keys identified mail is an email authentication technique that allows the receiver to check that an email was indeed sent and authorized by the owner of that domain.
This is done by giving the email a digital signature. Sender s domain dns zone is unreachable for lookup. If there is dkim pass in your email header your dkim signature is ok.
Aspects of domainkeys along with parts of identified internet mail were combined to create domainkeys identified mail dkim which is now widely used. Dkim signature domain and sender header from domain do not align. Then open your email in yahoo web mail click full header.
