Domain Controller Time Sync
This command should return the message the command completed successfully.
Domain controller time sync. In this command you must replace dc name or ip with your dc s hostname or ip address. Following this logic of time synchronization every computer in active directory will automatically find a corresponding server to synchronize with according to time synchronization hierarchy. Net time machinename set y or net time ip address set y where machinename is the domain controller computer name or ip address.
However we can manually sync the time on the client with the net time domain controller. In my case every workstation synchronizes with corresponding domain controller and domain controllers synchronize with the server in the root of the forest with the pdc emulator role enabled. Once done the windows servers active directory ad primary or secondary domain controllers or workstations will now sync their clock with the ntp time server that you specified assuming the time sources are working properly and the connection is not blocked by firewall or other security features.
Net time domain will not sync time with domain time source server. Net time dc name or ip set y.
