Domain Controller Time Is Off

Domain controller time is off. However the pdc operations masters may use a parent domain controller that is based on stratum numbering. I don t really want to keep setting the time. I have a domain controller running in vm on hyper v the time seems to be steadily getting faster over the x mas period it s 5 faster which seems odd.
As a result all clients in our domain have a wrong windows time. I know how to change the time and i belive we setup an ntp server on the dc and ensured time sync was turned off on hyper v. For domain joined computers they will pull the time from the domain controllers by default.
The pdc emulator is configured to use time a nist gov as its time server but doesn t appear to be synchronizing with it. This command doesn t do the sync it just displays how much time your server is off. All pdc operations masters follow the hierarchy of domains in the selection of their time source.
Yesterday i got to dive into a computer that had been setup by a vendor and was receiving a different time than the domain computers even though it had been joined to the domain. If somebody changes those settings though all bets are off. Domain controller time off by 5 minutes.
How to check your domain controller time against a global time provider. Run the following command to only check how much time your server is off from the global time authority. How can this time synchronization be fixed.
This server is a hyper v guest. Unfortunately the time on the domain controller is off by a couple of minutes. How can i check my system s current time settings against the time on a domain controller dc in the domain.
